The Confident Doctor
Confidence comes at a time when we not only believe, but we know and understand that there is an intelligence that exists far greater than anything that exists on earth. This intelligence is God. I hesitate to use the word "intelligence" because it quickly conjures up the image of a human mind capable of figuring out a puzzle, creating a new product, inventing a blockbuster drug, or figuring out a better way to genetically grow Lima Beans.
This intelligence is buried deep, far from the reach of man/womankind’s understanding. But it is there just the same. Human bodies, the earth, and every star in the universe are created and organized by Him. Mankind has attempted to study these things, to break them down, analyze them and anal-ise them. We have managed to figure out, over hundreds of years, most of the basic elements that make up people and the world we live in and even figured out some of the stuff in worlds we don’t live in. The problem is, we are not intelligent enough to make a person or the world. That knowledge, that wisdom, and level of intelligence elude us, has eluded us for centuries and will always elude us.
The closest thing we see to God is space. It’s outrageously vast and just when we think we have started learning about it we run into a black hole and find out that there are billions of more miles and stars we never knew anything about. The fact is, we can never discover the end of space and we will never truly understand or discover the end of the awesome power of God.
Here in lies our dilemma. If you did not know everything about parachutes, would you jump out of a plane if you made or packed it? If you did not know how to make a helicopter or how it truly works, would you fly in one that you fixed? I know nothing about cars so I do not put any parts in and I do not take any parts out. Every time a human cuts down a tree, removes a mountain, damns a stream, fills in a swamp, flicks a cigarette into the ocean, takes a pill, or removes a gallbladder they are messing with something they really know nothing about. They have changed what God has done, messed up His program, and they have altered what God is doing.
Simply put, everything is in the hands of God except one thing - reverence for God. All we can do and all that we should do is to see HIS work, acknowledge it, see its vast potential, appreciate its brilliance, and put no interference in front of it. You can support His work, plant a garden, eat an apple, water the grass, save a Manatee, get adjusted, or set a compound fractured bone - but you cannot add to it, fix it, or make it better.
I’m what you might call a confident doctor. Yet, it’s not at all because I believe I have magic pisiforms. It’s because I have super-natural pisiforms – hands capable of removing the interference so that God can do the healing. Because of the power and intelligence from God that runs the body; controlling all of its functions and healing, any doctor can become confident that with the right approach; all healing and prevention of pain, sickness, and disease is possible. There’s always hope, always a future.
With God, all things are possible,
